In a fully renovated old stone water mill set in olive groves, the bed and breakfast sits just 2-1/2 km from the centre of Levanto and 3km from the sea. Guests can enjoy peace and seclusion but are right on the doorstep of all that Levanto offers its tourists. Besides all this you can also find Russian salad, grilled vegetables, fried stuffed olives, homemade fresh pasta, such as gnocci, homemade jam tart and various types of cakes. And don’t forget the great Ligurian tradition- the salted anchovies! Stefano is a builder who has looked after all the reconstruction work of the apartments in great detail. He designed the interiors in the most appropiate way for holiday-makers. For those intending to hike along the Cinque Terre, it is worth noting that you can pick up the trail in Levanto by taking the Levanto-Monterosso footpath (CAI ref. no.s 15 & 10. The path starts from the steps leading up from Via G. Semenza to the castle (Scalinata San Giorgio). The path continues up past the house, marked with a plaque, where Guglielmo Marconi carried out his radio transmitting experiments. Shortly beyond this you come to the area known as San Carlo which is where the Cinque Terre National Park begins. The path then follows the spectacular coast line of cliffs and rocks, amongst which are the Scoglio Nero (Black cliff) and Punta Spiaggia (Beach Point) which marks the beginning of the Cinque Terre’s marine reserve. The snaking climb through the woods along the cliffs is then rewarded by one of the very best views of all five of the Cinque Terre as you reach the Semaforo view point on Punta Mesco by the ruins of the medieval Sant'Antonio church (319mt). From here a long sharp descent brings you right out on the beach at Monterosso. To continue, just follow the indications given for the other hiking paths. Zenith is our largest apartment. The house has a ceiling with exposed beams and terracotta floors. The ground floor has a spacious and comfortable lounge with a library where guests often leave with a good book next to a host, a TV, a hall, a bathroom with only services and a modern kitchen and a washing machine and dishwasher. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms bright and spacious, one with window and French doors with balcony that overlooks the green hills that surround Fontona, the other window that opens to the neighboring villages of Villanova and Footer Legnaro. At the end of the corridor is a third bedroom with two single beds. All rooms are large and spacious closets. The bathroom is tiled with care and finished in marble.For those wishing to reach the Cinque Terre walk, we note that it is possible to begin the hike starting from Levanto, Levanto-Monterosso along the path (rif.CAI nn. 15 and 10).
